Stefanie Kulisch (she/her) is a photographer, artist and photo editor working across national and international contexts. Born in southeastern Brandenburg and based in Berlin, Germany since 2006, she has pursued work and study stays in England, Sweden, Latvia, and across West Africa. She studied Social and Cultural Sciences at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder), followed by photography at the Ostkreuz School of Photography in Berlin.
Her artistic practice is rooted in long-term documentary projects that explore social dynamics and everyday coexistence with a sensitive, often subtly humorous gaze. Her photographic work focuses on transitional landscapes - particularly in the peripheries of Berlin and neighboring Brandenburg - where urban and rural, past and present, human and nature converge. Her images linger in the unspectacular and the fragile, revealing layers of biography, atmosphere, and social transformation.
